For our July 2024 edition of TCAE&B, Mesa College Professor Emeritus Lois Wittner will take us on a tour of five different models that she researched and produced to illustrate the history of San Diego's Chinatown, including:

• Qin Shi Huang’s burial site depicting a portion of the Terra Cotta Army;

• The stores and living quarters of the Gim Wing and Woo Chee Chang, two of the first and prominent retail stores of cultural significance;

• The Turf Club and Parlor House. Upstairs depicts a high class bardello and down stairs a saloon and Leroy room;

• A model depicting the inside and outside of a Chinese home during the lunar new year;

• The Wong Lee laundry model based on the research of John LeeWong.
